Post Distortion of wheel
A while ago some people in a car behind mentioned one of my back wheels was wobbling. I'd had them off so thought one must be loose, but no. As it turns out, an advisory on my new MOT is that my nearside rear wheel is slightly distorted.

That's odd isn't it? The wheels were a new set a few years ago from 2cv City. I've kept the inside seams smeared with grease so they aren't looking rusty. Despite my efforts I don't doubt there's some rust in there still but nothing visible.

I can't think how on earth this could happen. Had this car 17 years and another similar before and done all sorts of silly and fun things without a wheel going a bit wobbly. Perhaps it's because they weren't Michelin one. (I don't think they were so maybe some bad quality or something.)

I've yet to take it to my friendly tyre place so they can double check it but I'll do that later I expect.

Are you sure it is the wheel?? It can be the tyre only.. Jack it up and take a look...

A couple of years back we bought 8 brand new wheels for the race car and they were all FUBAR. So it could be you have a wheel from the same batch. Just like a lot of 2CV parts suppliers, i've been told 2CV shitty is known for supplying rubbish.

Apparently not the tyre, but I've yet to take it to the tyre shop to get them to look at it spinning on the balancer.

Yes AZS, I've been thinking the same. It's not got the best reputation for quality has it. I checked my receipts and the whole set painted in white as an extra was £160 about 5 years ago. So not expensive.

If something is just complete crap, any money you've spent on it is just money thrown away.
Have all your wheels checked, maybe none of them are round/straight, and only one shows extremely because of a bad shock absorber.

a consolation could be that completely round wheels only exist in theory ;)

Well it's confirmed, very wobbly indeed from side to side. Serves me right for buying cheap crap. I don't particularly trust the set now so I might just cough up for a set from Ecas since there's a discount for four Michelin wheels.
