Good job you mentioned that Sam. We have yellows and are going to the German National next year, so it would be good to find out. We're also going to the ICCCR in Holland so need to find out the legalities there.

And did some research on the Germans...
At Der Franzose website is stated that they are not allowed in the scope of the Highway Code:
https://www.franzose.de/en/Citroen-2CV/ ... /ANR14049/

@sam: what is your route? going through the Netherlands?

Guys yellow headlamps are allowed in Germany, as long you are not driving in a German registered car.... no problems at all...

Another thing I need to mention is that cars younger then 30 years must have an Umweltsticker (evironmentsticker) almost in all big German Cities nowadays.......older English cars I don't know, but be warned....

My bleu plated Ami doesn't need a sticker :D :D :D :D :D

Post Re: German Friends... Yellow headlights?
I asked a German customer about yellow headlights last week. Here's their reply:
"Nicole called the ADAC in Germany this morning but they didn't know! So she called the German police - their advice was that yellow headlights are illegal & all vehicles driving in Germany are expected to observe the law!
However, they did admit that a foreign car driving through Germany was extremely unlikely to be stopped for having yellow headlights and realistically the worst that could happen if you were stopped by a very officious traffic cop would be a small on-the-spot fine, e.g. 10 Euros.
Hope that helps, Chris"

Seeing as yellow headlamps give about as much light as a candle why take the risk......?

I have yellows. They are a higher wattage than the standard bulbs. Basically they suit the human eye better.

Here's the technical bit:

http://www.lightmare.org/effect_on_vision.htm

You will notice France had them in 1936 well before WWII so they were not used by the resistance to differentiate themselves from the nazis as is often mentioned on discussion forums.
