Sorry for the one pic per post. That's pretty much it, I was a bit dispirited last night thinking I needed a new back panel (too expensive for me) or a home made effort (too much like a snail wannabe) but I had a G+T in the garage last night and has a bit of a think. I needed to think about what was worth doing, think about whether this tatty old D*lly was worth any expense, think about should I just keep it until its MOT runs out and bin it, think about where I'm going with this project. However, I found myself thinking about pussy instead. So tonight I made a repair panel for both sections of the back panel and when I can find a couple of hours I'll get busy stitching it all in. I know it's not an exact replica of the original, and I apologise for that but so far all my repair work has been on a budget, the welding work and steel has cost me £12.70 so far so I can't complain, I only really get hour long slots to work on it and it must be drive able so I can get it home every night. It's slowly getting there.

So what? I think you've made a brilliant job of it plus it helps keep another one on the road.

for your rear panel, put in a sloping plate with 50s-60s taillights. Easier to manufacture.

Yeah this took longer than I thought. Didn't have time to stick the lights in it or the plate back on so I had to get the train home. I doubt I will get it finished until after the weekend now. I'll do the rear window surrounds while I'm at it. My rear panel repair leaves a few gaps here and there but nothing I can't fill in with some more steel.
