G'day folks
I am an ex-Belgian living in Australia, and a proud owner of a 1981 2CV.
Browsing around, this forum looks more like a forum of the local English 2CV nuts than an international forum :)
And can somebody tell me why non-registered owners cannot view any posts; there are no secrets here, are there? If people could see the posts, it would encourage them to sign up I think. It would also allow pages to be indexed by the search engines, so more people would find the forum.

Cheers

PS: Putting the forum (http://international2cvfriends.freeforums.org) in a frame (http://www.international2cvfriends.com) will not help with the search engines either. Unless you don't want to be found :)

This website is very much in its infancy John, as we speak we are emailing as many 2cv clubs and owners as we can to try and increase the scope of our website, we make no secret that those of us who took the time to set the website up are English, and so are the majority of the members at the moment, but you have to start somewhere, and surely a bit of banter between friends can do no harm?

We're working on that, it's a feature that came with the website when we set it up, we don't want it either, and as soon as we can have it removed we will do.

Thanks, we'll get our web expert on that....

Welcome John, thanks for your input so far, please bear in mind we're in very early days at the moment (this site has been live barely two months) so any suggestions you have, please PM us, we'd be interested to hear how our members think we can improve the site!

Make yourself at home, and post some pictures of your 2cv up! Max, our creative Guru will do you a signature picture once he knows what your car looks like!

Hi I am Richard

Got into 2cv's via my good friends Mick Playfor (RIP) and Sue Playfor.

First car was a Dyane in about 1985.

Next came an Ami Super'd engined 2cv, built by Pete Sparrow.

Left 2cvgb in the 90's as got a bit bored but then after kids etc rejoined 2cv ownership in about 2002 with a yellow and blue Charleston. Sold this car last year to fund my almost brand new Barbour 4x4 which will be ready in about 2 weeks.

I set up - www.dontworktoohard.com a 2cv gift shop in 2006 and then changed the name to www.cargifts4u.com in 2008.

We are going to many 2cv 4x4 events this year - if you want to come along and have a go at any please feel free to contact me. We often have plenty of spaces available.

Next big event is Morvan, near Dijon in France over Easter. Approx 5 UK 2cv 4x4 are going - last year 160 people attended. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxCXrcpbDZg

Get in touch if you want to come along - its how I caught the 4x4 bug!

Well thats more or less me - Married, 2 kids, tired !!!

Rich
UDAC Troublemaker 1985

PS - Thanks for my car logo below - Its great to see what my new car will look like. It will be covered in white daisies eventually as well.
