 Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
Russell, my engine seemed fine in the Dyane but when i removed the heads all four valves were really badly seated due to being choked up, i was surprised... Sometimes the better left alone method is not always best...

 Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
The eldest and I put the front arms and new bearings on today, thought I should try and get something done on it as it's been a while it had started to get neglected. Garage looks like a bomb's gone off, need to tidy up in there and get rid of the bastard wardrobe.

 Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
Now has all four arms fitted, I need front wheel bearings and two steering arms to go any further and that's another £200 to ECAS. Ho Hum. I could do with it on its wheels soon as I can't get it out the garage any more because I can't lift it any more because feeble.

 Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
Russ, try simply bearings for the bearings
Whilst id never suggest by passing ecas to save a few quid, (infact id rather go their than cheaper places) the bearings may be cheaper?

 Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
Got the rear brake pipes in no problem, no harder than without the arms on! I did one and the eldest daughter ddid the other. I've got the rear brakes to go in next. What's easiest, doing the front wheel bearings with the hub on the car or on the bench?
