p.s. It's been a bit frantic here, but haven't forgotten about that carburettor part. Yes, a long drop would do it good! It's the "epic fail" attention to detail that I like: that windscreen in particular! Thanks re. the carb part. Things have taken an unexpected turn here, so I'm not able to do much of the big stuff on the van at the moment, but if and when you could sort that out for me that'd be great. Unless I'm very lucky, kitchen-workshop jobs such as fixing carburettors and fettling valves etc are likely to be all I'm going to get done for the foreseeable future. C'est la bloody vie!

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
It looked pretty rough underneath and whatever is showing is even worse what you can't see. They do make new chassis for them at €2000 painted.
But I think you missed a bullet with this one.
Just got this months Gazoline magazine and it shows the Renault 4GTL rising in price at 16% a year. I will be keeping our little grey one (wife wouldn't let m sell it anyway)

Nice cars but a very bad chassis design. All dirt is sprayed in the suspension arm fixtures and they rot off.... shame... And i helped to take one apart from it's chassis....i can tell you 10 times hurrah for the 2cv construction....

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
Exactly so... A friend owned one and didn't realise that one of the rear radius arm mountings had become detached, until the motorist chasing him and flashing his headlights eventually managed to overtake and block any further (slightly wobbly) progress. We've owned two R4s, a 1967 750cc LHD ( KKO279P) and a 1973? 850cc (WTP531L) and my wife still reminds me that she preferred an R4 to a Dyane. AZL57 wrote: Nice cars but a very bad chassis design. Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
Must admit that the R4 is a 'proper' car compared to the Dyane I am selling a 1984 R4TL (850cc) and I am selling the Dyane Turbo '79 due to the recent acquisition of the 4CV and traction...... not enough stables
