you could also drain the tank through the fuel line, detach at chassis front and catch it in another tank.

Was foggy earlier but the afternoon has turned out beautiful. Took a drive to Burrafirth and whipped out the driver's seat to enjoy some basking in the sunshine.

Dropped the old holey rusty exhaust and drained about 23l of fuel from the tank.

Today ....I was gonna fix a dodgy fuel guage on my 2CV ....[just a bad earth.....I hope  ]
Instead ....I took one look at the sunny weather ....and thought "Sod it" .. :|
So me and wifey took an 80 mile round trip to a nice little pub we know of,just for dinner..... [with the roof open of course] :D
I might get around to fixing that fuel guage before Anglesey ....

Discovered that the fuel leak was due to there being no seal between the sender and the tank. I'm expecting a few more MPG now as it should all be going to the carb, as opposed to all over the street :)

After good success cleaning up Landrover Carbs went off to Asda for a couple of tins of oven cleaner off the £1 bins spray it on brush it in to the stubborn stuff.

rinse it off with HOT water and detergent ( flash or the lidl equivalent) in a presure spray bottle and before it can dry off spray with WD40 which chases the water off the surface and stops the salts in the cleaners from oxidising the ally.
