Post Re: BMW 2cv engine conversion
Thanks everybody...

Can someone tell me if this is the same startermotor as ecas sells???

http://www.2cv-shop.nl/index.php/2cv-onderdelen/motor/startmotor/startmotor-2cv-dyane-valeo.html.

Otherwise I will p.m. Bart.. to bring it with him...

p.s. looking at the Ecas site they change there picture, it is now showwing a fat startermotor
, but it should be a slim one???? shouldn't it.
http://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/starter-m ... p-916.html
Joolz is telling this one is the holy grale....

About mufflers
I think I'm going to order something like this,
http://www.simons-uitlaten.nl/contents/nl/d538_Simons_Universeel_63,5mm_uitlaatdempers.html
I'm looking at this one "ovaal 115/185mm, lengte 42cm"

These are a straight fit to the existing pipe I already have...

Geo, I'll try and check the part number on mine tomorrow. The one Harley linked looks right, but I don't believe it at that price.

Exactly Harley!

Joolz, that would be great, I definitly need a startermotor with much more torc, otherwise it won't work. If you can check the numbers on yours that would be very great.....
That's the problem I have with other starterengines too, I can't believe it will be the same startermotor for have the price..... or otherwise Ecas is doing things very good....... (earning money)!!!

My Valeo unit is made in Poland, I've had a good run with Poland recently, I purchased a Stag 300 Premium (srlf learning/tuning system) lpg full front end kit to fit into an Alfa 147...
The lpg guy here said yes he knows the kit, $1600 for the computer alone, I cross checked with the Aus supplier, he was correct.
I got mine landed with computer, software, wiring harness, sensors, injectors and reducer landed at my door $520.
I took it to the installer today with the receipt, he thinks it's stolen!

Pointless rant over :-D

Harley

At that price buy it and see

I've got one of the new style starters laying around as a spare, though it doesn't wear a Valeo marking.
I don't have a test bench to measure the power or torque, but i could mount it in my girlfriends 2CV, and compare it to a standard one.

Gathered some more information, the starter from your link is an aftermarket item from Robarcko, they claim it's identical to the Valeo.
The information on their website seems a bit misleading, as some thought it was a Valeo.
The given power is 0,7KW, i seem to recall there were also starters advertised with a power of 1,4KW. Maybe it's the same as with audio, the cheaper it is, the higher it's given power, while the output will be a fraction of it.

I think the number on mine is vs132, the same number that is in the ecas listing, that's the only thing that looks like it could be a part number.
