Post Wiper motor question.
I want to run a 2cv wiper motor off the mains (for reasons that aren't important). How should I do this? My first thought is that I can hook it up to a model train controller and let it run like that, does that sound viable? Ideally I'd like to be able to leave it running (unattended) for about an hour.

They're very, very important.

What about a gash power supply for a broadband router. Most are 12vdc. Find one with at least a 1amp output and try it.
Not sure what a wiper motor draws. Depends on how hard it has to work, I suppose.

1 amp isn't enough, especially the starting up of the motor will draw a lot more current i'm afraid.
just any transformer that is able to deliver enough current at about 12v dc will do the job.

I would have thought a wiper motor requires some power to run, and that a broadband plug or the like wont be enough

You can get transformers though for this, looked on ebay? I used to have one. How helpful that was to say that though...

Small battery charger, if you load the motor it can draw 5+ amps...

Yeah laptop charger or anything boat related. You can pick up generic 240v - 12v adapters in chandleries and caravan shops.

I would say 15 amp, but they draw more when the linkages are dirty.
