Re: Citroen Dyane 6 New to forum & Citroen :-)
**UPDATE** Been doing a bit of work on Wilma bulkhead and A-Panel almost done... A-Panel has been a case of 'patchwork quilt' but the finished product is solid. I ebayed myself a cheap gasless mig welder never welded before so its been a case of learning while i do it. However its not been too bad.. The metal is like a bloody kitkat wrapper so its been alot of spot welding but im getting the hang on the whole welding business quite well Will be spending the day on her tomorrow in which i hope to get the floors all patched up and two patches on the sills. Then just a little bit more welding to do and then to buy the lower windscreen section and she will be pretty much ready for her MoT Please see pics below (The red patch on the bulk head is a section cut from donor 2cv it was easier than fabricating a patch as the bit where the accelerator cable goes through would have been to fiddly to make) Stripped out just a few minor patching to do. A-Panel Progress. Panel part 1 for accelerator and regulator courtesy of Joe's old 2cv. Worst rust affected area of bulkhead patched.

Hey, Slowly but surely getting to grips with the welder. Patched up drivers side floors and a small section on sill. Things are finally becoming more solid and taking shape becoming less of a major project and daunting as a i go along. Starting to enjoy it now! Pics below also rust treated with loctite rust remedy on to the clean metal.

Looks like progress! I'm sure I read somewhere that, if you're "stitching" thinner metal together, it's best to remove that sooty slaggy stuff from gasless welds after laying each bead, as it's difficult to strike another arc through, and when you do manage it, it will lead to more inclusions in the weld. Certainly I've found it helps.

I'm dead impressed Nick, think it's awesome you just bought a welder and got stuck in! Nice one.
My method with rust treated metal is to apply some rust killer (I use Hydrate80) and then apply many-a-layer of Zinc primer paint, Zinc182 is excellent and provides a good base for colour paint.

 Wilma the Dyane **update**
Hi All, Much work has been done to 'Wilma' i've just spend shy of £600 on her this being a Jade Green roof, set of 4 toyo tyres, lower windscreen/ bonnet hinge repair section (which may i add is a complete rip off!!!!), two new headlight's, heater pipes. Just the odd little bit of patching to do, fit the windscreen/ bonnet hinge repair section and were good to go! Nick
