Took the new blue one down to the garage to fill it with fuel - stops, steers & goes fine - fuel gauge goes only up to half even when full, new sender needed I suspect...otherwise, rides nice and quiet and seems to have plenty of beans....

Took the new one - now nicknamed Dasher by the better half on account of the turn of speed that it left her when following me - up to Richard Daltons for Fettling and MOT over Christmas. Engine runs very smoothly with a nice compliant and quiet ride which really surprised me given that it has done at least 115K miles - I presume it's not 15K given it's had 5 owners before me......

Took my eldest daughter to work, car resplendent in antlers and red nose and me dressed as Father Christmas. She was so embarrassed trying to hide as people waved and flashed at us. Brilliant LMAO

I fitted 123 ignition. I followed the instructions carefully and read up elsewhere too and watched the videos before proceeding, I'm very thorough and can't see how I have got anything wrong or done anything other than a textbook job, each step checked, double checked & triple checked. And yet I'm underwhelmed. It seems to go similarly to before in terms of pull, acceleration, top end etc., but it now seems just a touch unresponsive, especially when I blip the throttle at idle, the revs don't seem to zip up as readily as before, and I'm getting a bit of a damp sooty exhaust patch on the drive too where the tailpipe points downwards.

Which one did you buy? If EVO there are different settings for different engines. When I fitted mine to original engine did not see any gain in power but was not worse than points (like yours)

I bought the basic version, I didn't see the need for different curves and vacuum.

It's probably just me imagining it and not being 100% sure of my handiwork despite being 100% sure of my handiwork :!: :?:

I will be giving it a decent run tomorrow, and if I'm still in any doubt, I will buy a strobe gun and check it with that and perhaps take some local 2CV'er advice too.
