8.5:1 Let me be very clear. I'm not criticizing the oil breather sold by Roy. From memory the oil breather is made by Carfix in the Netherlands. I may be wrong http://www.carfix.nl/start.html#/Producten

I'm going to recondition an old buggered breather using this new kit from Burton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_5rUwyVHg4

Lets move on.
What is the solution? then all you can do is substitute the breather and see what its like with that? ( did you ever do a compression test and what were the results? - in numbers rather than "good") EDIT - page 1 140 and 150 psi

No, Carfix is but an wholesaler. Has the lid got only 3 holes in it between the 2 threads? Some 3 hole items were troublesome. 2CViking wrote: 8.5:1 Let me be very clear. Re: Oil breather ECAS
Have you checked the small pipe from filler to dip stick - could it be blocked?

 Re: Oil breather ECAS
Also is the oil cooler ok? I drove 4 up with luggage to San Sebastain in Spain at around 110kph all the way and the oil was reading 95-100 deg C (outside tekp 26 deg C) 700kms - only stops for petrol and food. My ECAS filler still looks like new inside and out. To melt the paint from the inside the oil must be getting very hot......
