Started and drove it... for the first time since June. Not quite first pull on the starter but near enough. Think I need a new coil after the MoT place left it on for half an hour...

Sorted out my boot

Then decided to remove interior mirror to give it a good clean/wash. Then this little tag appeared. It was 22/1987 :? :?

Put the car cover over mine this morning before the big downpour/bad weather of Monday turns up (according to forecast)

Fixed and fitted lummi kit id got off e-bay for £50. did a compression test as theres a bit of oil in points box /down front of cases nothing conclusive bit low but perfectly balanced, went for a drive only to find the hesitation at about 3000 rpm under load is back. Suspect its cooler weather to blame.
Used my new multi meter too. The old one died at Snetterton new ones crap! US Pro its as big as a flippin cathode ray TV should have guessed US dont seem to have moved on from the 50s and certainly dont embrace smaller is better ethos

Will look for an old Gunsons one

Interesting. Mine does this and I've pretty much reached the same conclusion, the quality of todays 'petrol' doesn't suit carburetted engines at all well I reckon and this is but one manifestation. Do you get terrible carb icing on exceptionally cold mornings too, Sean?

Didn't do anything other than think about my A Series today. Got my insurance renewal, see, which focussed my mind a little.

There's so much that needs doing on my car that I'm thinking of taking it off the road for the winter, so that I can take it apart and fix it up properly. That way I'll save 6 months of insurance premium and road tax, which I can use to spend on much needed spares and materials... Plus I won't have to sit and watch it suffering on my driveway, out in the cold and rain, while I procrastinate about the fact that I really ought to take it off the road and take it apart and fix it up properly... etc. etc.
