 Re: 1-2-spark
Could it be the vacumn hose collapsing from the vacumn from intake manifold ? As mark had issues with that...?
Also air filter was loose. Could that not help ?

 Re: 1-2-spark
I had the collapsing hose and vacuum readings were still fine. Even if they weren't, the MAP sensor wouldn't "see" the full vacuum, just whatever was there before the hose collapsed, bringing the curve closer to the standard ignition. If it was leaking, you'd have no idle. A loose air filter cover only makes a kickass noise at higher RPM and throttle openings Have you checked your wiring with a meter? If the MAP, advance and RPM values seem correct with PC connected and engine running on points, then it seems even more like the blue wire running to the coil might be the problem. Even if it is not breaking, it might still rub and short somewhere occasionally. It would be helpful if you could acquire a dwell meter and connect it while running on 1-2 spark, to see if dwell times are actually reasonable. A dwell meter usually shows an angle, not actual dwell time, so at 900 RPM and 10 ms the angle indicated should be [0,010/ (60/900)] * 360 - around 54* (or 27* for a standard 4 cylinder meter), at 3000 RPM and 4 ms it would show 72* (36*). Also a strobe would show any irregular timing (and with 1-2 Spark there would be no timig scatter between the cylinders, unlike on points, so it should be easier to notice).

 Re: 1-2-spark
Saurus thanks
Dwell meteres. Too technical.
I cant see anywhere for it to short on, its fine on idle just mot high revs........
Amyway will try with vac hose un attached.

Sean wrote: "webcam optimised for lowlight web chatting" Noticed that too but I can't say anything; he's a costumer Sean wrote: oh - points if you dont know what your doing with all that stuff BTW. I'dissagree with you, Jameswallace volunteerd to be a testdriver of 1-2-Spark, also knowing that he doesn't have the knowlegde to properly tune it. But still he managed to get it going and took the efford for asking for help (Mark 4x4) to tune his car. I'm very glad having him as a testdriver, maybee we can learn from him to make tuning easier, or installing 1-2-spark easier...... The worst case is that 1-2-spark quits, you have to pull over, connect the Original ignition and drive on as he did. He got it sorted at home and drives on 1-2-spark again.... Oh and if you don't know how to fix points correctly your in the same position...... Oh and 1-2-Spark gives you definitly more power and more fuelleconomy.... just ask the testdrivers and costum drivers.... Cheers Geo.

 Re: 1-2-spark
James,
Here's the tables we did back in July.
Hope they help.
