Post Re: What did you do with your A Series today?
I'm back in Worcester to get the 2CV MOTed and take her to Shetland to live. Since I knew I was leaving it for a few months in Worcester, I disconnected the battery before I left for Shetland, so that was the first job this morning. It wouldn't start. :? :( So I went though a check list and just ticked off things as I went. There was fuel in the tank, there was a feed to and from the coil when ignition was on, so as there was no smell of petrol under the bonnet I suspected a fuel delivery issue was the problem. I whipped out a spark plug and it was as dry as Gandhi's Flip-Flop! A quick text to Spanners of this parish, a quick reply read, and I was off to the petrol station for a wee drop of flammable liquid. A wee, wee drop of petrol in the carb got the car going and it's now over at Peter Cross' in Tibberton for a fettle/check-up and MOT tomorrow. Hopefully have it back by the afternoon and I can get it booked on the Aberdeen ferry to Shetland next week. Fingers crossed. :)

If the corrosion is close to the rear outer seatbelt mounts, then that's a fail.

If the reason for MOT failure is that there's corrosion within a distance of 300mm from a rear seat belt anchorage, then it depends on whether you want the rear seat belts to be more than decorative.
In France, apparently some offcuts of tin can, a bag of pop rivets and a tub of bondo are sufficient to restore structural integrity... ;)

Just collected the 2CV from Peter Cross and it's a pass on the MOT. Had to replace the nearside headlamp bulb as the mainbeam filament had gone, and there was a poor earth on the offside front sidelight to sort before the MOT. Also had the handbrake adjusted.
