Thankx Jameswallace, I'm glad you like it.... Heat can't harm , but it is always better if you can move it out of the heat pipe airflow......

I think it doesn;t harm if you have little drill-things in your manifold (drilling a hole for the welding pit)
they will blow through the cilinder instantly..... or take a vacuumcleaner nearby when drilling...
You can also weld a nut m5 on the manifold and drill only a hole of 1mm, and turn the welding pit into the m5 nut......

So tuning is easy, first row at the left (top to bottom) is for cranking at low battery as you did today, leave it at 4 degrees like it is now. Other rows you can adjust as you like (higher numbers) when it starts to knock just back it off a little (lower numbers). You can see at the yellow cel where it is taking its numbers from at the moment..... Just try it and you will see how it works....

Only tune when your engine is really warm, a cold engine can easily do 5 degrees more of advance then a warm engine...

Yes, you are right knocking = pinking (in my Englisch)


Working with the software......

First try to adjust the revlimiter and try to get the feel how the software works put it to 3000 and back to where you want it and look how it works,

Then you can do 1 of the advance tables.....
When you are satisfied with your "new"advancetable you can export it and save it as a .csv file, which you can open with excel or put it here at the forum so we can see what your advancetable is like......

Ok this afternoon i fiddled a bit more

I re positioned the black box a bit so thy its away from the heat

I Also fitted the vacumn tube to the intake manifold with the welding tip provided

Since doig this my engine seems to thud a bit and runs rough on idle.

I tried it back on points and condensor and it ran fine

Do i need to retard the ignition maybe??

Confused with the rough / noise running. It sounds a bit like exhaust blowing. But it isnt..!!

Disconnected vacumn tube and ran ok again. What do i need to adjust to make better with vacumn attached?

On idle (up to 1200rpm) I programmed all the advances cells almost the same to avoid this.
Otherwise it can indeed run a little rough on iddle, only above 1200 rpm the engine is giving more advance when you release the throttle achieving more fuelleconomy......

Should work fine out of the box..... If you connect a computer/laptop you can take a look at the map gauge, it should be around 40 when iddling and (almost) up to 100 when giving full throttle....

When you drive the car (with maphose connected) is it running fine then????

If you are driving the car and you release the throttle (with the maphose connected) the yellow led will dim almost to none; this means the mapsensor is working, so the advance is going to 45 degrees of advance...
