Had a brick lobbed at my dad's car just now, fortunately no major damage has been done because it bounced off the roof rack that we put on earlier. Still pretty gutting though especially after all the trouble we had a couple of years ago (broken mirrors, scuffed doors, broken windscreen) :(

In nicer news, my dyane has some more paint on, and one polished door!

Bloke knocked on my door and asked if he could check how the linkage on the gear stalk to gearbox lever works on my Special. He's got a Pembleton with a dodgy gearshift. Discussed gearbox stuff, then we chatted about 2cvs in general for half an hour and concluded that they are brilliant.

After that I drove my Special to Ludlow with my elder son, where we had a picnic in the sunshine and then saw the Circus of Horrors. High points were a woman with not much on doing some amazing hula hooping, a bloke balancing atop loads of cylinders playing the guitar solo to Back In Black, and a dwarf with a vacuum cleaner stuck to his bellend.

Got home to find that Mr Courier had delivered 5no. wheels with genuine Michelins on them, supplied by Ben of this very forum.

All-in-all a jolly good day!

Didn't do anything with mine today but am now on rest days so hope to take it out for a spin over my days off.

I did have a skip arrive today , and it's parked next to the 2CV....Which reminded me of the episode of One Foot In The Grave with this:

Hope it doesn't happen to mine overnight!

We are all set for the Tour de France - 14 Aussies arrive in the morning for 10 days of riding and watching the Pyrenean stage.

René is ready to go :D :D

Replaced every bit of rubber fuel pipe AGAIN.

What an absolute and utter scream of a job it is.

I can't decide if that's three or four times I've done it in six years of owning the car. I've used some of that obscenely expensive stuff from Ecas this time.
If it cracks up this time next year then so will I.

If anybody else is thinking of doing the same and are having trouble with shite cracking pipes then avoid this stuff:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-6mm-R9-FUEL-INJECTION-HOSE-RUBBER-PIPE-SAEJ30R9-PIPE-/260780661987?hash=item3cb7bd1ce3

Lasted me about a year I reckon and the seller wasn't remotely interested in doing anything about it.

Total crap.

Not bitter though.

Honest.

I've done sod - all with mine for ages. Not even driven it: been going to work in the Fourtrak because it's easier. Owning a 2cv (well, a Dyane) ain't what it used to be back in the days when you could just drive them around without feeling responsible for them all the time. I think I need to flog it and get myself a disposable banger with an MOT. Just like wot 2cvs used to be, in fact.
