The hood you've done looks fine to me all I need now is to decide whether to go for gray of burgundy...

Thats a no brainer!
If you choose gray you will always be wondering what it would have looked like in burgundy.

That is neat I had already decided to measure across the rails to ensure the fit is right.This is not going to get done until I'm back in the UK in October. As for my decision about the colour it has to be burgundy.....The only thing that concerns me is the fitting of the rubber bungee cords I guess I will discover how this is done

Ok, here's my template - after corrections. I used plenty of paper tape, to separate areas with glue, also from the outside/underneath to protect from glue dripping over and getting between the canvas and floor. Thanks to this it came out very clean, without any glue stains.
The green lines are where the metal bars should rest when glued/wrapped. You'll figure it out. Take care to assemble/wrap them the right way around (maybe take pics when stripping the old one).
As for the bungee cords, there are metal hooks that clamp around them and attach to the frame. My advice now would be to start with wrapping part of the rear bar, attach cords, glue the rest of the bottom edge. Then glue the length of the side channels with bungee cords inside and do the front bar as the last part. If you have new bungee cords, leave them too long, sticking out, and tension/cut/attach the front hooks as the very last part of the assembly.

I helped a friend with making one a few years back that ended up a tad short, we ended up trimming down the bar above the rear window to make it fit. Otherwise fitting the rear window again was the only difficult bit.

We were fortunate to have been given a few completely shagged roofs to try and scavenge suitable bungees and a front bar from, the bungees don't seem to age well and we struggled to find a front bar with enough substance left to be useful.

Hi and thank you for posting your hood pattern, as I am a complete 2CV novice I do have some questions about the window. Do you put the seal on the window then install the window with seal in the frame? And just out of curiosity do you have patterns for the seat covers. Thanks Dean
