Or the brake fluid may boil because of overheating, leading to a complete loss of braking effort
I've known that happen when normal brake fluid has been used in an LHM system and vice versa. :(

As regards the choice of brake fluid, if you specified LHM fluid in your order rather than just 'brake fluid', I doubt that you're justified in laying any blame on the vendor.

Nope - I would rather scrap it. Everything was new, brand new. I will risk it for now. The only thing that can happen is my brakes seize on and I slow down.
I am just pissed that the place that sold me the whole brake kit also sold me the LHM on the same order. They said they thought it was for another vehicle... yeah right... it was my responsibility but a little advice wouldn't go a miss.. Without actually know about LHM there is no other way of telling, no warnings, no info etc on the bottles. I see LHM sold right next to Dot 3, 4, 5 fluids without any explanation of what does what or the consequences.

On my AZU I use the silicone fluid and have a red triangle warning tag hanging off my reservoir - so at least I know.

As I said, I have learnt from it and won't do it again

Don't do that. Shove it in a corner, and if nobody else wants it, I'll come and collect it some time.

Well, apart from the ones that you can even read in the pic of the bottle you posted on the R4 forum...

Where - it says used on some citroens. On the shelf at Norauto there is no mention of anything between the two. A lay person (me) could easily pick one up thinking it is a good price and use it without knowing any difference.

This is the first time I have come across it too and hence the mistake. You only do that once :?

The R4 is fine - I have tested and tested the arse off it. I will change out some of the seals as I go along but the liquid was only in a few days before I purged and cleaned it out. Just need to change out the shoes to make it a little smoother.

But now I am concentrating on the AZU :D :D
