spanners,
have you got a replacement for that bit of the chassis which acted as a crumple zone?
In the middle of a Dyane rebuild & chassis change at the moment and the front end of the chassis is in very good order.
It's not identical to an Ami chassis, but the 'ears' could be swapped over... ;)

Just thought having noticed them in the garage last night, if you are missing any parts let me know, I have boxes of Ami 8 parts, a front wing and possibly a grille. Let me know.
Cheers

Hi Spanners,
in one of the photographs you'd posted, the o/s/f corner of the Ami's chassis looked to be a bit too crumpled for it to be possible to 'persuade' the metal back into shape.

Can't recall how far back the buckling extended, but if it ends forward of any internal reinforcement in the chassis leg, it should be possible to graft on a replacement front end.

That front end of a Dyane chassis is still here, having saved it from the scrap man who came to call yesterday, so if it's of use to you, let me know...

Ken, that would be great thank you.

I don't suppose you're likely to see anybody that's going to Mallory on bank holiday Monday?

Cheers

Jon, don't forget that I still have your C02 bottle. It's full of gas. Let me know when you want it back.

Steve P should be going, as long as Wayne hasn't got fed up with repairing the racer. ;)
( Steve's motor parts business is in downtown Selby.)

So, how far back from the front end does the cut need to be made?

I've not got the engine and box out yet but, it looks to be bent a couple of inches forwards of the "handbrake crossmember".

If I could cadge the front including that crossmember please?

I shall track Mr Panas down at Mallory then. Thanks a million.
