Post Re: Performance BACK
PERFORMANCE BACK! turns out.... after all... it was the fuel pump... now i have some pics to upload later on... but when i removed the fuel pump on the D*lly.... nice and clean... big splodge of grease, as normal... when i removed the fuel pump off this engine.... it was like devastation... completely black and gunged up with oil and crap... i dont know what the actual term for the stuff is, but it was 'orrible and nasty and possibly the reason why the last one died? i've not seen this before and i'm sure it didnt look like that a few months ago when i originally put that pump on it....

pics to follow!

Bonnet is DOWN Spanners! :D

believe it or not.... after swapping the fuel pump over... she went from brilliant to crap again.... hesitation again...

fitted an inline filter today (pump to carb pipe) started the car.... filter filled up... wahey... tick's over fine, car ran alright (for abit) started hesitating after a few miles home... when parked up outside the house, kept her running, checked again... Filter almost empty.... pushing up bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles.... cant see a leak after the pump... so im assuming ive got a crack in the pipe somewhere before the pump to the tank... will replace all though!

Disconnect the whole lot. Gravity feed the carbi from a 1 liter clear coke bottle from inside the car and road test. Easy option to eliminate pump and tank sender etc.

Doubt its the cause just a syptom.

Any 1 liter container will do, should be see through. Use coathanger wire and hook it somewhere above the dashboard, maybe rear vision mirror or crossbar above your head. Also hook it on your side mirror.
Bring spare fuel
