Post Nuts
Running out of manifold exhaust copper nuts. Before looking at getting new stock I would like to know what is best for heat, copper or bras, maybe something else. We all know that old exhaust copper nuts are slowly burning away and can be a pain in the arse to remove.

What is this stud made off, seems to be harder or coping better with the heat

Post Re: Nuts
Viking,
the 'copper' nuts which I've used in the past seemed to be copper plated, whereas the brass nuts now available are solid, so a much better bet.

Exhaust manifold studs are likely to be high tensile steel, perhaps 10.9 grade...

ken.

Thanks Ken. I somehow knew the answer. Will find some bras nuts.
Cheers
