Post Re: Wheels trims.
I had all four of my wheel trims stolen (and I discovered later my spare wheel TOO !! I didn't lock or look in the boot for a while as it was the only thing in there!) I've got another set of normal wheel trims from The Charleston I'm doing up but understandably I was a bit reluctant to put them on or buy another set straight off!

I thought about making all sorts of spangely designs, but ended up just making some quick disposable pretend normal things to baffle the trim thief if he came back!

Anyways! You could have a bit of fun with a heat gun, a hot glue gun (possibly a knife to cut some weird shape slots!?) and plastic round things! so here's my instrucable how I did 'em... might be some odd chemical binstors lying around somewhere or summat!?

Started out as this....

Ended with this...

1. Made a small hole on the bottom of the tub

I gently heated the bottom of the tub, the hole will expand as you heat and push whatever you use as a former in and let the hot air out!

in that case it was a just an original wheel hub, but I'm sure anything round wit a nice curve would do!

2. I then cut out the bottoms and glued them to the lids (which where a perfect diameter match to the original trims!)

3. spayed 'em with chrome paint

and stuck 'em on!

Hope I've inspired with simple stuff for much much less than a fiver! I'm sure you guys can come up with summat a bit weirder and wilder!

:D 8-) :?:
