Post "new" wipers at 2 euros
In fact there are not new wipers but rebuilt ones.
Yesterday I have the good luck to go into a Norauto store, where in the "specials" secction they have 2 rear wipers from a Clio II, 300mm (12")long, at 1 euro each.

This DIY can be done with extruded rubber profile type wipers (continuous section). The cheap type from norauto or carrefour are not valid.

My wipers was from Valeo and the donors too, and the seccion for the rubber are the same.

Is worth to say that this wipers are rebuilt one time before, but using this profile buy in an auto-parts store, but be carefull because this material can be stored at the shop for years.

How to:
The new wiper model and cost:

Comparative between 2cv wipers and donors:

To loosen the rubber you must press it with a plier, to loosen the inox reinforcements.

The inox reinforcements have a shape to fit to the wiper estructure, just press it and force to slide it along their axis:

Not the best pic, but here it can be checked that the rubber profiles are the same:

Slide the rubber profile and inox reinforcement into the wiper structure.
Here you can see the new profile assembled, there are 5cm excess to cut, because the 2cv wipers are 250mm long.:

Cut the rest, and the new wipers are done:

PD: Sorry for the pics mobile-quality. this DIY takes me 10 minutes the pair of wipers.

Some people can do those mirror trims really easily, other people struggle and even break the mirror before they do it. I've never tried it, but I have seen darus fit his mirror trims, and he makes it look so easy. I think it's better to ask him when you see him at a meeting if he can fit them for you. ;)

Good tip with the wipers, Juan! I usually take any new rubber from cars in scrap yards when I see them, and do just what you have done.

I think of it as recycling.

i had troubles as well - i watched Daras' videos over & over & i did exactly what he said & could i get the trims on? could i hell! I broke 2 mirror glasses & gave up in the end - i emailed him & asked if i could send the mirrors to him to get them fitted properly, which is what happened in the end, i also bought 2 new mirror glasses from him too - the result is ace! they look perfect now.

I know some people that have fitted the trims & have had no problems what so ever, i'm not slating them at all, i think there's a knack & i just couldn't find it!

good thinking on the windscreen wipers, Juan - i may try that as my blades are looking a little worse for wear!

The trick is to go for 20" ones (or 22" if you've got a Dyane!), that way you get two pairs!
