 Right i know this is silly....

Post Right i know this is silly....
i dont wanna make a tit out of myself, but..

i changed the bulb in my dash from the woofty lil 2.2A to a nice beefy 5A and i can actually see it at night now :D but... is it gna cause any long term damage? like melt a hole in my dash or anything like that?

yess i know its kinda silly but i thought i'd ask... just incase something was to happen.... lol

second i got to the national and met up with a few people, it was "This is Gay Joe" ive become quite accustomed to it :D

so long as you meant that the bulb was changed from 2.2 watts to 5 watts, it'll all be fine and dandy.

Otherwise, keep the fire extinguisher handy... :lol:

Assuming you mean 5W, I've had a 5W bulb in for ages without related problems.

Good to know the bulb can be uprated without problems, 'cos the original is useless.

Has anyone tried using LEDs in there? Can you get ones brighter than the ordinary bulbs?

afaik, LEDs have been tried...



...and found wanting, most probably because the light beam which they produce is too narrow.
