Thinking about, (still after some gs wheels) the dyane will be taken off the road for winter and so will the GS wheels with those tyres on them... i forseen the bit where they crack in temperatures under 0 degrese and advised not to use them in 10 degrese so

How much modification, if any, would be needed to fit GS wheels on a lowered dyane? Do they catch the arches? (bare in mind, the profiles are a bit smaller than a 125 michelin tyre) Something about if they where on the front, the car wont be able to turn as it catches on the wheels? If so, how is this overcome?

On the race cars, what plastic material do they make the windows out of? I was told that 1 material turns yellow in the sunlight and I dont want that.

On the Ecas "short tuning guide", there is a bit about machining the barrels "about 30mm above the end of the barrel is the ‘shelf’ where the barrel mates to the engine block". Ive heard its banned from racers so, surely its worth doing? Is there any negitive effects to that?

Thanks

jack, to fit GS rims to the Dyane i think you'll need to get yor track rod arm modified - cut and rewelded like this:

it will foul the wheel otherwise.

Ami super track rod ends and steering arms
cut and welded! >draws in breath thru teeth<

Polycarbonate, sold as plastic greenhouse glass

You can machine the barrel and but there is a limit 395.5mm from barrel to barrel

And then you're in some iffy territory legally speaking when it comes to welded steering components. I know there's gonna be people argue about that but it was something rammed down our throats by VOSA! :ugeek:

Ive fitted them onto my dyane and i need to do some modifications to the front trackrod arms, So how do the sidewinder guys fit GS wheels on theirs?

Im sure russ's old dyane had GS wheels on when Matt was in ownership of it, there is an Acad with some GSA alloys on it, i remember he couldnt turn when he fitted them on registers day but modified something so he could.

Sidewinders have Amisuper running gear, so it's not a problem.

Tarquins Acad had standard steering arms and he had them modified as per the picture above.
