Quite some time ago but as I remember the cam is held on to the adjuster by the ends being piened over. If you tap them in so that they form a square the cam comes off. Fitting is the reverse.

I seem to remember having to have the patients of Saint Paul and not being ever so happy with the end result. Much prefer to change the arm for another.

It is not that difficult. Simply grind away the penned over tip of the adjuster bolt. Careful not grinding in to the cam itself. Heat up the spacer between the cam and the back plate and push it out with a drift and hammer. Easy

Fitting the new bolt. You need 3 hands. 1 to hold the center punch. 2 to hammer the center punch. 3 big hammer to hold against the back of the new adjuster bolt.
When the center punch no longer expands the tip of the new adjuster bolt, flatten it with the hammer. Every now and then turn the bolt ½ a turn. You can alternate between flatten the bolt and using the center bolt.

Many thanks gentlemen

changing the rear arm isn't really an option for us as these have both been 'bent' to where we need them.

Growing a third arm may be difficult - but hey if they can grow an ear on the back of a mouse who knows!

New bolt and cam ordered - we will see

You will certainly manage it Simon but as 2CViking says you do need three hands even more so if the arm is still on the car.

Good luck, perhaps a photo or two while you do the job?

If I can make it along Simon, I'll check that other shell over and act as a "third" hand at the same time if you want?
