Post Visa brown coil
hey gang, amongst my spares i found a new Visa brown coil, i think they were used on 652 Visa's & LN/A's/...

What i'd like to know is, are they ok for use with M28/1 engines on points? I seem to recall somewhere reading they weren't suitable, although that could've been for use in conjunction with a 123. Any ideas?

cheers

Visa coils are for electronic ignitions and can't be used on points/condenser.
Works well 123 and all the others.

Neil,
the primary resistance of a Visa coil is between 0.6 & 0.8 ohms, compared with a standard coil's 3.6 ohms.
If one were hooked up to a points system, it would be 'game over' very quickly.
Only certain 123 units can handle a Visa coil, from memory the EVO & 'Blue'?, the others will be destroyed by the heavier current draw of a Visa coil... :(

ken.
