Sounds like the condensor to me. Swap it and see what happens.

Most of the problems I have had with a bad coil is that when waiting at the lights, the engine just dies. It won't start for a long time. I have a spare that I quickly connect and just leave it lying on the fan cowl just behind the coil. I also have to push the car into the garage sometimes, as I have to switch off the engine, unlock the door and then the engine refuses to start.

I would guess a condensor. Fix both problems by getting 123 ignition plus a Harley coil. See Uncle Roy at ECAS. He'll sell you both for about the same amount as a very cheap rusty 2CV. I am busy saving up my pennies to do just that.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to matter with these, I had two "bad out the of box" ones once and at least one other new one that played up. Inside they are very swiss rolls of thin foil and thin plastic, I guess they are just a bit delicate. Unless Ive just been unlucky? :?

On the plus side it easy to replace (you can even do it with out removing the points...).
