Carb has arrived. :D

A trial fit at least indicates, it appears to be the correct one. :)

Choke mechanism is slightly different. But should work.

The test will be if the governor connection hooks up.

Still a bit stormy out there, so it can wait

So, as often happens, when you buy a new broken toy to fix (saves me the trouble of breaking it), you do some research and find the bit you need for it to get it going at minimum cost. Because you don't know if it will work yet, you order the bare minimum. So I only ordered the carb from China. What I didn't order (and now that I think about it, still haven't), is the air box and filter. My rationale, is it would still start and run, and I could see if it would generate sufficient electricty. 've not fitted the carb due to bad weather, but thought I would investigate the airbox a little more.

So what do I stumble across!! A duel fuel carb!. £17, and in this country!

So I ordered one, just out of interest.

Chinese carbs
They sometimes seem to forget to drill some holes here and there.

@AZL57 Yes :) I'm aware on the short comings of some Chinese products.

There again, the engine is a Chinese clone of a Honda.

At first I thought the Gen was a somewhat obscure, but reseach over time, suggests it a Honda clone, that has also be re badged a few times.

When I discovered it's based on the Honda GX390 engine, but comes out of a Chinese factory as a 188F engine, finding parts was much easier. :D

I appear to have flared up a Repetitive Strain Injury from years ago, and it doesn't want to heal quickly. So have ordered Electric start kit from Germany.

I may yet need a voltage regulator.

Gen now starts and runs. :D Ran better when I connected the governor.

Gauge is showing around 240v

Need to do some sort of amp test.

Still need an air filter box, but waiting on the lpg kit to see what the kit contains. Should be here today. :D
