 bad ride home? idle jet?
Took a ride to see some friends in the Cereal City (about 20 miles each way) First time it was cold enough to wear a muff on the grill. Ran well but stalled at the last stop light prior to the meeting. Got back to the car and it started bucking on load and would stall without the choke out. Limped home using the choke the entire way. Looked through the past texts and saw the idle jet was a likely fault. Popped the bonnet and started looking around low and behold the idle jet is gone. Ordered a replacement. My question is did driving back home that long on choke and jet missing cause any harm. Just hoping that the new jet is all that will be needed.
cheers

Amazing just how the engine fired up in the first place and then kept going. Anyhow just in case, have a look at all the other nuts and bolts around the carb.

Had not thought of that. Good idea. Something to do while waiting for the jet to show. Burton rebuilt the engine and thank god they ship so fast. Pricey but fast
