Hi team.
I found a post on the internet where Ken H mentions teflon bushings and plastic end caps, for the gear shift slider. A modified version he came up with that seems to be an improvement.

Ken, if you see this would you be able to share the details with me pretty please?

If anyone else knows, I'm all ears. My slider is very sticky, probably due to massive previous oil leak disasters in the engine bay....

Thanks!

My to RPM’s
Is the gear stick straight?
Try Talcum powder or PTFE spray on the bushes.

Ah, yeah I've been using motorcycle seal lubricant for ages, its struggled on for a long time like this but the seals are just swollen. It's extremely hard to move when it's really hot.
Lately the seal lubricant is not enough so I resorted to rubber grease but it's got a bit ridiculous. Good for your core strength though, haha.

It's been sprayed with oil by accident in the engine bay too many times I guess. In recent years I've left my cap off twice, apart from anything else.

I'm not sure refurbishment is a simple thing.

A replacement from Simon Sobey perhaps.

However, be cautious, as there may be different lengths.

Do you have a link to Ken's post.

(if you want to flag someone on a forum, try putting a @ in front of their user name and the forum may email them :) )

So, that would be @Ken

Edit

I see burton do a kit, available from ecas. With instructions :)

Ah thanks Roger. I'd actually only seen the normal bushes for repair. Interesting kit. Also had no idea there were different lengths of shifter!

Tried Simon already, haha. Wasn't sure if the @ symbol thing worked on this forum, so thank you for that too.

The Teflon modification made the slider even more slidey. I'll see if I can find the post.
