Hi all. Can anyone tell me how the cap comes off that's over the end of the suspension arm bearing area please? I just want to inspect, getting the most awful clanking noise after corners. I guess could also be the knife rod edges, but I have kept them greased religiously for the last 25 years. Suppose they could still be worn though. It's so loud! |

It's just a plastic cap with a metal tywrap on the rear. |

Shocks seem fine to me from my quick lookie. It's an awful loud clank noise. Much like when the bottoms of the inner wings catch the suspension arms. Only its not that, I put new wings on and they're perfect with pristine paint haha. I need to order a new clamp for the steering column, it seemed better when I managed to get that tightened up really good when I have the wings off last. But it got uber bad during this Devon trip. And has periods of doing it all the time until it settles again. I think when it originally got loose it created wear on the spline. I wouldn't expect this awful noise but noise can be funny can't it. Further investigation is obviously needed, I do want to check the bearings aren't all rusty or something. |
