@AZL57
Yeah, I noticed that. They are very directional. You need to be directly behind to appreciate them.

I have led lorry brake/back light/indicator rear lights on the Shed. :)

Was asking a neighbour to check lights were working and apparently none were! He was stood on the pavement and couldn't see them.

Saying that ... I do live in an old peoples institution, and it could have been cataracts ....

Years ago I used LED sidelight bulbs from that really nice smaller 2cv parts outlet I can't remember the name of. 2cv Stuff maybe? But yeah I wasn't keen on the look and they didn't seem to last very long.

From there too i bought red LED brake light bulbs and those are the only ones I think we're fit for LED because of the directional issue. They're awesome,
really bright and still in there years later. Those were well worth it. I've driven this car on long journeys for years in the most shocking weather..

I have led bulbs in my front direction indicators but the are not very visible. They make no use of the lens shaped indicator glass.

I use these 12 V 21 W leds on front and rear turnlights, brake light and tail light and will not change back ever. I also use some red flatpanel lights as rear foglights. These lights have two connections, one for full light capacity, one for half capacity which can be used as e.g. stop light

I have COB sidelight bulbs. if you have halogen min/dip beam bulbs they will cook LEDs in a very short time.

The COB sidelight bulbs are on a par with the DRLs in moderns.

Interesting, my LED sidelight bulbs would never last long and I gave up.
