1978 602 Can anyone with easy access, please measure (unless you know) the metal fuel outlet from the tank. I think its sucking air there somewhere, and its a bit of a patchwork. Thanks |

Hi Roger, I measured it to be 6 mm outer diameter. |

Ive ordered hose and clips. So anyone got any tips as to the easiest way to change the rubber hose? Does the tank have to drop all the way out? |

Dropping the tank is the most "sure" method of replacing the fuel line. Due to the lack of space it is too risky of squeezing the line. |

Definitely easiest with the tank dropped all the way, curse those rear seatbelt fittings that did away with the access hatch! |

Richard I'm fortunate to have a Bedouin with wooden floor and access hatch, but still can't see under the cross member! Still, not a bad idea to take it out completly, as i have a submersible fuel pump that i would like to see if it can be fitted. |

Take the tank of when it's nearly empty. My brother once found out when a full tank he was unbolting hit him in the face... |

I did a simular thing with my old 2cv. A full tank is suprisingly heavy when your stuggling under the car. |
