Here we go....

The d is missing its upstroke but it used to be there. Not sure what the dS refers to - could be the type of paint.

As for the wheels and bumpers, it's definitely gris rose. The dollys had white wheels but grey bumpers and I think the charlestons had silver/grey wheels with grey bumpers. -

Mine now has a dyane rear bumper and 15" Pallas wheel trims but the front bumper is gris rose and matches the original headlamp bar. Oddly the hood retaining bar is a slightly darker grey than this though.

That's great stuff, Richard - many thanks.

Good, I reckon it's Gris Rose too. Is your shade very light, almost 'cream' coloured?

Must find out what these extra letters mean...!

Yes, that's brilliant. Looks just like mine - expect yours is soooo much shinier...

The guy I'm thinking of getting the paint from only has a record of the earlier Gris Rose (up to 1976-ish) which is AC136 instead of AC140. They are nearly the same, and frankly I'm not too concerned about absolute originality - both bumpers, the headlamp bar and all the wheels will be redone so will match!

Funnily enough, I have noticed that some of the wheels - and this is on a car used for only one year - have already been resprayed as some of the top coat is flaking off revealing a slightly different shade underneath. Possibly the top layer is the older shade already...

Anyways...

(Still would like to know what these last two letters mean tho'!)

Thanks again, Richard.
