Roger V : don't become confused ! :roll: I will still use the 123 unit for ignition on the test bench. So I will use also the waste spark here. This 602 engine will only serve for testing. Once this work to satisfaction I will built my system on a freshly built Visa engine and go for sequential injection. On that engine I will continue to use the ignition built by GEO. I will take off one magnet in the ignition box for the injection only then and leave out the devider.
In the end we have many possibilities to show to other people wanting to use the Speeduino on a 2CV engine. ;) ;)

FYI

Using an electric fan, avoid the hills.

Graph of 2cv Oil Temp.
Top graph ........300mm Pacet Fan 12volt.
Bottom graph....Standard 2CV fan.
Recorded on a steep uphill route.

This was done 5+ years ago....

At 36 on the x Axis engine is turned off.
Pacet fan still running.
Temp keeps rising as the oil is not circulating.

Subarupete : seems you had a fan with a good flowrate. Is it a known type ?

Yeah, when the engine is turned off all the internal heat can only escape through all engine parts in contact with the outer air. When I switched off the e-fan was still turning about 5 minutes before the oil was below 80 °C.

Pacet 12”/300mm run on 12volt, nowadays not that expensive, see also Kenlowe fans.

In the graph, was that with the electric fan constantly on until 36*?

For LPG I bought 2 temperature sensors, one for gas temp, and the other for coolant temp.

Don't really need a coolant temp, so thought I may repurpose the sensor for engine temperature. I thought to file back part of the hexagonal section and put an M7 thread on it. Then screw it into one of the bolt holes at the bottom of the barrel that secures the cooling shroud in place. Perhaps add a small plate to divert direct airflow from it. I could then, use the sensor with a control to turn the fan on/off.

It may be useful when running on petrol for warmup enrichment.

Of course, it does depend if the sensor can cope with cylinder barrel temperatures! It may just melt :lol:

Fan was in all the time, also one version had. 100deg thermal switch.

Sensors for air/oil (thermistors) are ok. Max 150deg C.

For CGT and EGT you will need a ‘K’ type thermocouple, insulated/ungrounded.
All thermocouples have the + on the ground side hence the above, however the battery powered displays mostly LCD can be used to display temps as the setup is indpentdant of the 12 volt neg earth system.

See Baggood for supplies of thermocouple and displays, good prices but long delivery times.
