Post Choke
Sorry to ask a stupid question, but does the first few millimetres pull on the choke simply increase the tickover speed, without making the mixture richer?

It's a question of making the plugs sooty (or not) by leaving it running for a while with the choke pulled out just a little - until it's warm enough to tick over at the right speed without the choke.

Thanks

it may depend on how the choke is set up. You probably need to look. Something I have always intended to do myself. You can operate the choke at the carb end.
