Re: We have liftoff.....
Ordering some bits for the swap....
I seem to have acquired too many gearboxes and have a choice of large or small drums...Any disadvantages of going large? Parts availability the same?
Are the wheel cylinders the same for both??

Re: We have liftoff.....
So a few hours today..... Getting disheartened already Every step forward leads to more parts needed. -the (expensive) rear brake pipes look like they need replaced -front bumpstops ripped off -Driveshaft gaiters are shot -even the tabwashers on the axles broke... Suspension cans are proving challenging.....not got any of them off yet. Had to walk away. Had enough fun for today

I bought a complete brake line set in copper, the complete set are some times cheaper. Bonapart in France has nice sets https://fr-fr.facebook.com/BonapartProducts/

How do you know what products they sell? http://www.bonapart-products.fr/is deactivated. @48pop: From my experience ( ahum) there is always more parts needed then you would expect .

I bought several superb parts there. Strange, but is a while ago. A shame if they went out of business.

Re: We have liftoff.....
This is fighting me all the way...... Are the knife edges supposed to be IMPOSSIBLE to remove?? Got 1 off so was able to get the can off, the other 3 are not for moving....Cleaned threads, soaked in penetrating oil for days, some heat from a propane torch. They wind out around 20mm then lock solid. I'm thinking of cutting a slot in the back support so that I can get the other can out, then, take the lot to my wee local mechanic for some proper heat.... Looking at the worst case, anyone know if 2cv units would work on my AZU250 ??
