No Geert, this is not what I need. What I need (and I hope will be affordable) is an electric engine and batteries to put on my 2cv, not an entirely new car.
Also I donĀ“t like the design of the Mehari and the price is too high, obviously...

Oh! I thought you said you needed piston rings! :D

:D Yeah! I do need them!
I'm buying them from Burton, hope they are good.
As for the electric option, it is just an old dream, unfortunately not yet affordable... Meanwhile my old 2cv will continue running on LPG ;)

Are you running injection or mixer ring?

Post subject:  Re: piston rings

Not (yet) injection. As for mixer ring, sorry, I don't know what it is...
Well, LPG enters into the carburator through 2 holes on the side of it. It's probably not the best way, but the two horses have never complained :D ...

Well, new piston rings, new clutch (Valeo), and the old 2cv is back to the road...
The mechanic told me there is no need of running-in but most people say I shoudn't go beyond 4000rpm or 80Kms/h during the first 2000 kms.
Any other opinion?
Thanks.

As its only rings, and not bores, my self I would probably say 800 km at light load and no more than 4000.

The mechanic who repaired the engine told me the bores were ok, only the piston rings were a bit worn out.
Although he is (kind of) a friend of mine, I wouldn't agree with him when he says there is no need of running-in in this engine ;)

Vitor and Roger,
according to these instructions provided by Perfect Circle with their replacement piston rings, 'light load' should be avoided when bedding them in...

Ken, I'm not sure I understood the instructions...
Should I need just 160 kms to do the running-in?
