Has anyone had any success with fixing split/cracked shrouds?

Thought I was the only one with these shrouds ( dyane engine )
Not sure about repairing splits but found Hi temp Silicon seal works on surface cracks ,
Btw theyhave been advertised on e-bay S/H with surface cracks for around £50 :shock:

I thought Dyane had tin shrouds and 2cv rubber. Just what I heard.

Scary prices, hence wanting repair advice. :D

It's age-related, not model-related: earlier cars had metal, later cars had rubbery stuff. (Not sure when they changed: maybe early 80's?)

Probably trying to reduce sound output to meet noise "emissions" :?

I HATE selling things :oops: Not because I want to keep them, but people always faff with money.
