Re: Suspension can repairs
Yes, jacked up and on axle stands, but from my postings you will see that the cans are non standard - I don't know why, but as supplied by MCDA some years ago. They seem to work OK, just a bit of a bugger getting them in.

Re: Suspension can repairs
Hope you didn't mark the rods with your grips, this can be a cause of future rupture too... Are your connectors screwed to far on the rods maybe? Normally you can connect them easy to the dangling wheelarms. Some times a little downward push on them is helpfull. Other idea do you have bumpstops on the chassis?

Re: Suspension can repairs
Bumpstops stop the arms going up too far, they need to drop down to get the knife edges in. No, my cans are "bitsas" - made on a Friday afternoon with what was left on the bench they had at the factory. However, once in place they seem to give as good a ride as one would expect.

So terribly sorry having to correct your post, but I think that the FRONT is on the right side. (Check the gap on the doughnut bumper.)

Re: Suspension can repairs
I shouldn't worry about it too much, Taskos. It's an error by whoever did the translation of Citroen's manual from French to English back in 1977 and doesn't affect the information regarding spring and tie rod lengths.
