Hi all, interesting problem with the headlamps has developed! When full beam is on & the engine is reved past tick over, the alternator is charging off the scale on my dash mounted voltmeter at 16+ volts. ![]() Have tried another new voltage regulator, but no different. Cleaned &, replaced where needed, all lighting connectors. any ideas ![]() |

Disconnect the regulator and connect it directly to the alternator exciter, and positive and negative terminals on the battery and see what happens. |

Many thanks, but problem solved. ![]() The earth by the top of the drivers side (RHD) heater tube was loose! Had the car in bits a while ago, must have forgot to tighten it back up. A lot to be said for having a dash mounted accessory voltmeter, if I did not have one fitted I would have had no idea, it may well have ended in disaster. |
