Post Gearbox mount AK350
Hi all,

I thought one of the ways to try and tidy the garage was to try and put some bits on the van.

Should there be a spacer or something at the mount for the old tin top gearboxes?

I guess it is a lock tab that I've ended up with on the wrong side of the mount but as it is the gear lever hits the bulkhead and can't engage 1st or 3rd. It seems a long way for the engine to pull it forward. Engine not on yet.

I think that the mount is the correct way round with nipples forward...

All the best.

Pretty sure there are spacers on later gearboxes. Try lining up your drive shafts and see if that gives you a clue. :)

On my old 2cvs the flange of the body is bend down near the gear lever.
Are you sure it is a spacer and not a nut lock plate? ANd yes it should be on the other side.

Thanks All. I think I can perform that kind of bodywork adjustment...

Indeed AZL57 it is indeed the nut lock plate that ended up on the wrong side.

Our 1965 AZ had an "original Citroen "dent in the bulkhead to enable the gear lever move freely.
It was hard to make a new one after we replaced the bulkhead .
But now it has a copy of the "original Citroen"dent.

They had a worker at Citroen with a big hammer to make the dents... ;-)

Yup my van has the dent. And the 'cut and shut' gear stick.

Would you be able to share a photo of the dent please? I think I just need to go bigger. 3rd is OK, 1st seems to be further back but I think the flange is flat there. Does it indent the actual bulkhead aswell?
