Hi, any recommendations for what upgraded battery will fit in place of a standard 2cv battery?

I have fitted a 1000W Hi fi system, it cuts out when the headlamps are on at high volume, or they dim to next to nothing at tickover. :o

Hi
Before committing to a new battery, I would ensure all the relevant positive and ground connection are sound. Headlight dimming at idle is normal without a stereo.
A 1000 watt! That will shake the rust off :D

You need much bigger alternator with that kind of sound system. Quick calculation, 1000 W from 12 volt, near 85 amps. If you have original capacity battery 45Ah and original alternator 25-30 A you can't listen the music over an hour before your battery will be flat even with engine running...

And, without proper alternator, and of course battery, you can't get the light dimmering away...

1000W amplifiers don't produce anything near 1000 real Watts in my experience.

Well i have seen the battery of the neighbours Capri being emptied in about 2 hours off playing his soundsystem while tinkering on the car... And he had a big battery in it. ;-)
