Post Heater tubes
My heater tube foam has pinched in the middle and is stopping air getting the through.

Any one know any improvements for heater tubes?

:)

I have neoprene hoses in mine. Fabulous, like a hurricane. Plus with the de-mister on you can check the tappets for unusual noises ;)

Some people say it's more noisy that the cardboard ones, but they're mostly fannies who need bigger speakers... and people who'd rather watch their cars burn when the cardboard inevitably falls off onto the exhaust.

Thanks Sam
I was visiting a friend today who lives 20 miles away and I got cold on the way there. I have to say, that had the cardboard tube caught fire, I would have been reluctant to put it out!

I removed the inner foam and was surprised to find it is only glued at the ends. It is amazing how much noise the foam absorbs.

I am wondering if some chicken wire could be used to hold the tube/foam open

Chicken wire will help. Wicked on the hands when fitting though. (Wife makes marionettes for window displays using same as a base). That neoprene looks promising. Maybe cut down on noise with some felt liner.

in the old felt tubes there is a spiral from piano wire inside to keep them open.
