Post Earth strap
Hi everyone
Should there be an earth strap from the battery to the body of the car? I have one to the engine, but as the engine is rubber mounted, I can't see there would be a good negative connection!

Thanks Geert
I did wonder as my voltage regulator is not working correctly. Thought perhaps it was a bad earth!
How heavy is the cable? How many amps are we talking about?

I've ordered a 90 amp braided one and I think I'll go from battery to body to avoid wear and tear from the engine movement.
Still puzzled on where it was making a circuit though.

I was always wondering about this thin earth wire, but never disconnect it to see what happens.
Time to try it.
Hard to believe that all that current (excluding the starter) passes through it.
