Post Re: brake fluid loss
Make a hub extractor of an old wheel, or use large screwdrivers as levers, it shouldn't be so hard to remove.
If you're loosing brake fluid, it should show at the place where it's leaking. There is no use in replacing seals or reservoirs if there isn't a leak there, you could even create an extra leak because a lot of the new reservoir seals are crap.
If you can't find any apparent leaks, check the backside of the master cylinder, check the underside of the brake calipers and the disks and check the rear cylinders and drums when you remove them.

Simple hub puller for the 2CV

I take no credit for this device, as it has been published in the 2CV EXPERT magazine etc, but repeat it here for those of you that have missed it.

Get hold of an old wheel, preferably one that isn’t good for anything else (No use using up good spare wheels) and a sturdy bolt about 100 mm long and 2 nuts to fit, at least 12 mm diameter (Maximum 25 mm - what a whopper !!)

Mark out a line with a felt pen on the inner rim of the wheel, and drill a hole large enough for a jig saw blade.

Put on a pair of goggles (as the swarf flies off pretty hot). With a good metal cutting blade in your jigsaw, follow the marked line.

Clean up the cut edge with a file - no need to be too neat in this, just saves cutting your finger on it later.

Mark and drill a hole in the centre (or enlarge the original square hole) big enough for the bolt with about 1 mm clearance.
Cut a short length of copper wire and wrap it one turn around the bolt - this will act as a spacer when you weld the nut to the hub puller, and stop the bolt from fouling its thread on the hole during welding. (Throw the wire away after welding).

Weld the nut to the inside of the hub. Stand back and admire your handiwork !!
