Post breather cleaning
when i whipped the alternator off the acad last week so i could fit it on the 2cv, i had the alternator sliding adjuster come off with it - turns out there was only one bolt holding the breather on & that wasn't much more than finger tight. I've taken the breather off now & was wondering if it's ok to clean in a parraffin bath? It's pretty chatty & seems pointless wanging it back on without attempting a quick clean-up (well it does to me!)

In which case cleaning it in paraffin wont do it any harm and will make it look pretty and show people you love your engine. Check the gasket at the bottom is OK too

Never heard the term sausaged before, has made me chuckle. I am going to use that term so much now. So much nice than the one I use, f*cked.

I've never had one apart, but isn't there rubber in there? If so, that probably won't thank you much.
