They're not stupid or silly, especially once you've realised that they're access holes for spot-welding the windscreen panel into the bodyshell...

Does anyone know why these stupid holes exist on the A pillar area of the windscreen surround panel? They just seem very silly - if water gets past the first part of the windscreen seal, the final lip is no defence given that these holes are in front of it. I think there was tape over them when I took the screen out but I'm not sure. I've put duct tape over them before refitting the screen. Attachment: IMAG0456_1.jpg |

Ah, I thought there must be a reason other than weight saving... So taping over them is normal/recommended? |

Giving them a good filling with "Waxoyl" [or similar] would be a good idea, before taping them over & fitting the screen. (just a thought  )T. |

One step ahead of ya Terry  Although its kind of open back there. I've been spraying Dynax wax in the general area, avoiding wires etc.
